1ne was established in 1991 in Belgium as 'Antwerp Cleaning Services'. Initially, the parent company's business was general cleaning of industrial and commercial buildings. Today, 1ne represents a holding of 6 different companies, each focussing on a specific cleaning or maintenance task: general cleaning, window cleaning, food industry cleaning, vehicle cleaning, industrial/chemical cleaning and building maintenance.
Freebility implemented a Mobile Field Service application for 1ne. The PDA-based solution allows work order follow-up, time registration (both own and others), registration of materials with barcode scanning, taking pictures of purchase receipts, and work order summarization + customer on-screen signature. |

In 2006, over 4.000 fashion professionals attended A FAIR, the professional trade fair that presents selected fashion brands in Antwerp’s Waagnatie. As a result of the growing interest in the A FAIR events, Dragonfly Dream/Sociéthéque – organiser of these events – wanted to improve the system for online registration and entrance of the trade fairs using barcode scanning. Freebility offers a solution to register online, use barcode scanning for fast entry at the trade fair, and identify visitors using wristband barcodes.

Using a specifically designed import-module, the existing and updated pipeline network information is loaded into the Tom Tom Navigator interface. Using this system, the users can combine the standard functionality of Tom Tom with the company-specific data of Air Liquide.

Since the mid 1970’s, Bestgift BV has been active as a distributor for consumer goods in the BeNeLux market. Through the years, Bestgift has represented several brands. Currently the best known brands are Zack and Bodum. The sales representatives use a mobile sales force application to sell the several products at the customers’ sites.
The application replaces the existing paper catalogue, and thus required a specific device that also allowed the presentation of the different products in a large format, including pictures. Bodemkundige Dienst van België/Service Pédologique de Belgique implemented a mobile solution for the electronic registration of their activities.
The application includes GPS tracking for the automatic registration of the physical location of every soil sample taking.
Next to this, a dynamic form system allows usage of any type of electronic form, without having to do any programming.
The solution combines a smart client (for use even when out of coverage) with a real-time GPRS connection for the for querying historical data.
The application is completely integrated with the existing Oracle back-end system. |

Using a PDA device with GPS navigation & GPRS communication, all drivers constantly receive assignments, get exact driving instructions, and register the status of the assignments on the device. Customers can sign for reception on the device and a built-in camera allows proof of damage registration at pickup or delivery.
In the back-end, a full track-and-trace environment is integrated with the existing Microsoft Dynamics NAV ERP system. Functionalities include semi-automated dispatching: based on the ETA's (Estimated Time of Arrival) of each driver, the system always knows which driver is best fit for a new assignment. |

To improve the logistics process,
Evonik Degussa has labeled their own train carriages with a rugged UHF RFID tag. This tag is used to identify the carriage and to link the goods on it. A PDA with RFID reader is used to register incoming and outgoing carriages. A second PDA application is used to register unloading, moving and loading of products and containers.
Due to the size of the site, Evonik Degussa choose to use GPRS for the communication with the Oracle back-end system. |

In Belgium, Federal Mogul services aftermarket customers who sell world renown brand-name replacement parts through repair shops and retail outlets.
As an extra service, Federal Mogul Belgium wanted to offer their customers a tool to easily generate labels (including barcode) for their personal use. These labels include the customers’ logo, product ID and barcode. Using a publically accessible – but secured – Extranet website, each customer can generate labels for the products he or she ordered. The application generates a PDF document with the required labels in the required formats. .

The cities of Hasselt, Oudenaerde, Oostende, Bilzen, Leuven and Antwerpen organised a Fit-o-Meter event, to promote sports in the city.
To create a competitive athmosphere between the cities, a registration of the contestants and their scores need to be kept.
Each participant received an RFID wristband which is linked to his personal information. At each activity (on several locations in the city), the wristband is scanned using a mobile rugged PDA with RFID reader and GPRS connection. On the central city marketplace, a large scoreboard is used to present the real-time score of the city, with a comparison to the other cities. |

People with Celiac Disease & Gluten/Wheat Intolerance need to know whether a product (like yogurt, some cookies) is suitable for them. Products need to be verified, checking the substances and the production details: it is an absolute must that these products are free of substances that they are allergic for, or it did not come into contact with these substances during production (as being contaminated).
In the Netherlands, a community - www.livaad.nl - maintains a database of gluten-free products. We have used this database, and enabled to search it through J2ME mobile phones. It was rolled-out to more than 200 users.
The glutenfree project is a technology case study done by Xplore/Cronos/Freebility and has been presented at JavaPolis 2004. It covers end-to-end J2ME application development: methodology, architecture, implementation and provisioning. |

SanyTrans specializes in the transport of shipping containers, both inside and outside the Antwerp Harbor area. With a fleet of 45 trucks and around 160 container trailers, SanyTrans serves a large portion of the inner-harbor transport.
To support their activities, SanyTrans uses a PDA based Transport Follow-up System. The PDA is used by each driver and incorporates GPS navigation, transport orders, container number registration (outside the cockpit) and real-time chat with the dispatching.
