1ne was established in 1991 in Belgium as 'Antwerp Cleaning Services'. Initially, the parent company's business was general cleaning of industrial and commercial buildings. Today, 1ne represents a holding of 6 different companies, each focussing on a specific cleaning or maintenance task: general cleaning, window cleaning, food industry cleaning, vehicle cleaning, industrial/chemical cleaning and building maintenance.
Freebility implemented a Mobile Field Service application for 1ne. The PDA-based solution allows work order follow-up, time registration (both own and others), registration of materials with barcode scanning, taking pictures of purchase receipts, and work order summarization + customer on-screen signature.

In 2006, over 4.000 fashion professionals attended A FAIR, the professional trade fair that presents selected fashion brands in Antwerp’s Waagnatie. As a result of the growing interest in the A FAIR events, Dragonfly Dream/Sociéthéque – organiser of these events – wanted to improve the system for online registration and entrance of the trade fairs using barcode scanning. Freebility offers a solution to register online, use barcode scanning for fast entry at the trade fair, and identify visitors using wristband barcodes.
Dragonfly Dream/Sociéthéque decided to use the system for the all future A Fair trade fairs (2007-2008-2009) .

To support the field service engineers in the field, the locations of the Air Liquide pipeline network were integrated into Tom Tom Navigator. Using a specifically designed import-module, the existing and updated pipeline network information is loaded into the Tom Tom Navigator interface. Using this system, the users can combine the standard functionality of Tom Tom with the company-specific data of Air Liquide.
 

Alcom Electronics is the leading technical distributor and manufacturers representative for Electronic Components and Embedded Module Solutions in the Benelux. Alcom electronics decided to implement Microsoft Dynamics NAV (formerly Navision). They use the Warehouse Management System module in combination with the Freebility Mobile WMS Solution.

As an active player in the foodstuffs market, Avamoplast is required to provide full tracking of the production of their products. As each product is based on plastics (thermoforming and extrusion), the originating raw material is known and registered. To ensure the future traceability when sold, lot numbering is registered using a mobile device when a delivery is prepared.

Belgian Nurdie has a team of 20+ sales representatives visiting the different selling points in Belgium and the Netherlands. A Mobile Sales Force Application supports the sales team for order entry, delivery and messaging.
The solution fully integrates with the existing Nurdie back-end environment.

Belgique Loisirs is the largest book club in the French speaking part of Belgium. Every year, they sell more than 1,2 million books, CD’s and DVD’s. They have more than 200.000 registered members. Customers can buy via the Internet and in one of the 13 book-stores in the country.
A large part of the daily business envolves packaging and logistics. To support the business, Belgique Loisirs uses a PDA based WMS/scanning solution, developed in close collaboration with Freebility (coaching & implementation).

Since the mid 1970’s, Bestgift BV has been active as a distributor for consumer goods in the BeNeLux market. Through the years, Bestgift has represented several brands. Currently the best known brands are Zack and Bodum. The sales representatives use a mobile sales force application to sell the several products at the customers’ sites.
The application replaces the existing paper catalogue, and thus required a specific device that also allowed the presentation of the different products in a large format, including pictures. Using Dzine Zineon² devices, the sales representative can sit next to the customer and browse through products & promotions on-screen.

Bodemkundige Dienst van België/Service Pédologique de Belgique implemented a mobile solution for the electronic registration of their activities.
The application includes GPS tracking for the automatic registration of the physical location of every soil sample taking.
Next to this, a dynamic form system allows usage of any type of electronic form, without having to do any programming.
The solution combines a smart client (for use even when out of coverage) with a real-time GPRS connection for the for querying historical data.
The application is completely integrated with the existing Oracle back-end system.

Boehringer-Ingelheim Belgium (Brussels) is a subsidiary of one of the world’s leading pharmaceutical companies. Headquarters are established in Ingelheim (Germany).
With the “Pocket CRM”-project Boehringer-Ingelheim created a mobile platform for its representatives. Through this platform customer information from the central CRM and BI applications are made available on-line.
Freebility uses Biztalk to integrate with the back-end environment of Boehringer-Ingelheim.

ClickTouch nv is a leading manufacturer of custom-built and standard electronic interfaces. They cover almost every type of electronic input: membrane switches, touch screens, elastomeric keypads, force and capacitive sensors, vandalproof keyboards, rubber keypads, industrial keyboards and other HMI products & accessories.
For the Sales team, Freebility developed a sales follow-up application on PDA with GPS tracking. In the back-end, Clicktouch Management receives automatic reports on the activities done and the address of execution (reverse GEOcoding).

Continental Automotive Systems develops and produces electronic and hydraulic brake, stability and chassis control systems, electronic air suspension systems, sensors, engine management and transmission control systems, hybrid drives, cooling fan modules, body and security electronics and also is the industry leader of embedded telematics and communication systems in vehicles.
To improve the follow-up of the production processes, Freebility implemented a PDA application for production follow-up. The solution uses 2D barcode scanning and directmy communicates with the production line (PLC based).

The application exchanges information in real-time using GPRS/EDGE. Functionalities include merchandiser survey, order entry and real-time stock verification. A barcode scanner is used for product identification.

Decubo is a building contractor, and has a fleet of trucks that are used to transport building materials, machinery and construction waste. To improve the use of materials & machinery, and to optimise the process in general, Decubo uses a fixed mount vehicle terminal in the truck to register all activities.

Euro-Sprinters, part of the Belgian Post, focusses on sprint delivery services for packages and letters. The ‘open-all-hours-company’ guarantees made-to-size solutions to meet specific requirements with respect to the size and nature of the shipment and the speed of delivery.
Using a PDA device with GPS navigation & GPRS communication, all drivers constantly receive assignments, get exact driving instructions, and register the status of the assignments on the device. Customers can sign for reception on the device and a built-in camera allows proof of damage registration at pickup or delivery.
In the back-end, a full track-and-trace environment is integrated with the existing Microsoft Dynamics NAV ERP system. Functionalities include semi-automated dispatching: based on the ETA's (Estimated Time of Arrival) of each driver, the system always knows which driver is best fit for a new assignment.

Europromotion visits, modifies, and manages the distribution channels for wholesale brands, in respect to their marketing and advertising campaigns.
Using a mobile application, Europromotion performs several merchandiser activities on the several locations in Belgium. Because every customer requires completely different tasks and surveys, Freebility provided Europromotion with a generic task follow up/survey system, allowing them to change the forms and tasks on a mobile device without any programming or technical envolvement.

Evonik Degussa Antwerpen is one of Evoniks biggest multi-user sites. The company has approximately 1,029 staff and achieved a turnover of 413 million Euros in 2007.
To improve the logistics process, Evonik Degussa has labeled their own train carriages with a rugged UHF RFID tag. This tag is used to identify the carriage and to link the goods on it. A PDA with RFID reader is used to register incoming and outgoing carriages. A second PDA application is used to register unloading, moving and loading of products and containers.
Due to the size of the site, Evonik Degussa choose to use GPRS for the communication with the Oracle back-end system.

Federal-Mogul Corporation is global supplier of quality products, trusted brands and creative solutions to the automotive, light commercial, heavy-duty truck, off-highway, agricultural, marine, rail and industrial markets. In Belgium, Federal Mogul services aftermarket customers who sell world renown brand-name replacement parts through repair shops and retail outlets.
As an extra service, Federal Mogul Belgium wanted to offer their customers a tool to easily generate labels (including barcode) for their personal use. These labels include the customers’ logo, product ID and barcode. Using a publically accessible – but secured – Extranet website, each customer can generate labels for the products he or she ordered. The application generates a PDF document with the required labels in the required formats. .

Ferag NV, a subsidiary of the Swiss holding WRH, is a company that specialises in automation of internal logistics. Ferag offers turnkey solutions for internal conveying systems, packaging machines and systems, pallet handling, palletizing systems, postpress processing- and warehousesystems and software.

A mobile solution has been implemented to regulate the arrival, loading and shipping of new and used cars.

Ineos Feluy, Fluxys Interconnect Zeebrugge, BASF Antwerp, Solvay, Monsanto and Janssen Pharmaceutica are using the Freebility Inspection System "FiS" for the electronic registration of the inspections they perform.
The FiS system allows companies to dynamically define the inspections, and link users and planning to it. Using a Rugged and Explosion Proof PDA device, users can register the required information in the field. An extra identification system using RFID or barcode enhances the usability and rules out possible fraud.

Freebility builds and maintains the GPS-Buddy Communicator Software for the Windows CE and Windows Mobile based devices that are used in the GPS-Buddy configurations. Using this approach, the Communicator can be easily extended to fit the exact needs of the customer.

The cities of Hasselt, Oudenaerde, Oostende, Bilzen, Leuven and Antwerpen organised a Fit-o-Meter event, to promote sports in the city.
To create a competitive athmosphere between the cities, a registration of the contestants and their scores need to be kept.
Each participant received an RFID wristband which is linked to his personal information. At each activity (on several locations in the city), the wristband is scanned using a mobile rugged PDA with RFID reader and GPRS connection. On the central city marketplace, a large scoreboard is used to present the real-time score of the city, with a comparison to the other cities.

Ijzerwaren Vertommen has implemented a WMS inventory application for their warehouse. Using a small mobile PDA Scanner, they can collect the required inventory information fast and efficient, without any paperwork or manual processing. All registered data is synchronised to the existing back-end system.

Kela Pharma is a producer of pharmaceutical products for both human and veterinary market. In Belgium, a team of 20+ sales representatives use a mobile solution for the visit reporting en sample drops.
The solution offers the sales representative an important tool to follow up his work, and to easily register the required data in order to comply with rules and regulations regarding sample management. The direct GPRS connection with the back-end gives Kela Pharma a realtime, up-to-date sales management environment.

Kind en Gezin is a Belgian organization, focusing on the aid of young families with new-born babies. They assist in both medical (vaccinations, medical check-up,…) and practical (nutrition, care-taking,…) activities. With over 700 care-takers on the road, Kind & Gezin is one of the largest organizations of its’ kind.
Freebility conducted a study, based on the usage of the portable today and the possibilities of mobile devices that are on the market. Using this study, Kind en Gezin can now decide on the options for the future mobile devices and technologies to be used.

Lannoo Publishing has a large experience in publishing high-quality books in Belgium and the Netherlands. Every year, more than 300 new books are published, in several genres. Lannoo Graphics develops and commercializes stationery, wishing cards, and office appliances.
Using a Pocket PC device, the sales representatives are able to improve their working methods. The device includes a full customer and product list, and the possibility to place an order using the device.
With this system, Lannoo seriously improved the order processing, freeing up time for Customer Quality of Service.

Leen Menken Foodservice Logistics is a logistics service provider, specifically focussing on the foodstuffs market. Their fleet of trucks transport frozen, refrigerated and non-chilled products.
Customers include renowned retail and foodservice producers, restaurant and fast food chains. Leen Menken provides the required logistic services for its’ customers in the BeNeLux area.
For Leen Menken, Freebility implemented a PDA based Transport Follow-Up system with barcode scanning and GPRS communication. The application is used to register loading of trucks, unloading @ customer sites (+ customer approval), and registration of returned goods and empties.

Levenstond Seafood is a fish processing and distribution company. For their production and warehouse, Freebility and iFacto provided Levenstond with a complete integrated solution, including Barcode PDA scanners, label printers, and integration with an electronic balance system. The applications communicate with and through a Microsoft Dynamics NAV environment.

People with Celiac Disease & Gluten/Wheat Intolerance need to know whether a product (like yogurt, some cookies) is suitable for them. Products need to be verified, checking the substances and the production details: it is an absolute must that these products are free of substances that they are allergic for, or it did not come into contact with these substances during production (as being contaminated).
In the Netherlands, a community - www.livaad.nl - maintains a database of gluten-free products. We have used this database, and enabled to search it through J2ME mobile phones. It was rolled-out to more than 200 users.
The glutenfree project is a technology case study done by Xplore/Cronos/Freebility and has been presented at JavaPolis 2004. It covers end-to-end J2ME application development: methodology, architecture, implementation and provisioning.

The MIVB/STIB (Société des Transports Intercommunaux de Bruxelles) is the regional public company which is responsible for operating the public transport service in the Brussels-Capital region. To ensure a high quality of service, MIVB/STIB has a team of inspectors on the road to check the punctuality of their public transport system. The inspectors have a mobile device that contains the expected drive-by times for each vehicle in the Brussels area.

The HCS Meal Registration System is a standard product that provides an efficient meal registration and distribution system, offering the ability to put together day and week menus based on patient dietary requirements.
A wide range of reports are available in order to be able to register patient meal choices on the field.
Pocket MRS is the mobile extention for this solution. It allows registration of the patients' meal choices on the field.

Parlevliet uses barcode terminals in combination with the Navision ERP system to completely automate the supply chain. Every product that is delivered to Parlevliet is scanned, allowing automatic registration of goods in the back-end. Also, every movement of a product within the warehouse is registered.

To support this activity, a mobile solution with CRM capabilities is required.
Equipped with a portable, they can request customer information, enter orders and create visit reports. Microsoft Dynamics CRM is used as the basis of this solution.

SML is a subsidiary of “MAN Ferrostaal Industrie- und System-logistiek”. SML produces car parts and provides serveral “just in time” and “sequence” services to the international automotive industry. SML was looking for a simple registration solution for some of the product in their warehouse. Using a no-nonsence barcode scanning application, SML registers goods on several locations and for several purposes.

SanyTrans specializes in the transport of shipping containers, both inside and outside the Antwerp Harbor area. With a fleet of 45 trucks and around 160 container trailers, SanyTrans serves a large portion of the inner-harbor transport.
To support their activities, SanyTrans uses a PDA based Transport Follow-up System. The PDA is used by each driver and incorporates GPS navigation, transport orders, container number registration (outside the cockpit) and real-time chat with the dispatching. Using a mobile device, the engineers have a full electronic version of their work order, allowing them to identify the work, register offered services and used materials,... Also, the customer can sign the work order on-screen when finished.
The solution is fully integrated with the UPC back-end systems and uses a GPRS Mobile Intranet connection.

For the follow-up of the filling, transportation and cleansing of the Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBC's), Freebility has created a barcode-based registration system. Due to the specific environment, the IBC's are equipped with a rugged barcode label. Also, the used devices are ATEX (explosion proof) compliant.

VinalFood offers exclusive food and beverage products from the south, including top brands like Lavazza and Parmalat. For their warehouse, they have been using Psion Teklogix Workabout MX for several years. Today, they use the new Workabout Pro devices with a new application for the warehouse scanning.

VWR International is a leader in the global research laboratory industry, and distributes a diversified product mix, including chemicals, glassware and plasticware, equipment and instruments, furniture, protective apparel, production and safety products, and other life science and laboratory products and supplies.
The customers of VWR can use a webshop to order their products. As a lot of these orders are based on products which have previously been ordered, this system can be dramatically improved by using barcode scanning of previously ordered products.
All customers are equipped with a Motorola CS1504 keychain barcode scanner. A simple application on the customers' PC reads out the data on the scanner (USB) and automatically makes it available in the webshop.
